on Sundays, except as hereby authorized, shall be unlawful
and subject to the provision and penalties of said Sections 492 and
522 of this article.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate preser-
vation of the public health and safety, and having been passed by a
yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of the members elected
to each of the two houses of the General Assembly, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 5
(Senate Bill 261)

AN ACT to repeal Section 21 (h) of Article 66B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Zoning and Planning",
sub-title "Planning", sub-heading "Title 2. Zoning", to repeal a
provision requiring approval at a referendum of original zoning
ordinances in Queen Anne's and Talbot Counties.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 21 (h) of Article 66B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Zoning and Planning", sub-title "Plan-
ning", sub-heading "Title 2. Zoning", be and it is hereby repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby de-

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 11 of
Article 18 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Acknowledgments", sub-title "Uniform Acknowledgments
Act", amending the Uniform Acknowledgments Act to extend its
provisions to dependents of members of the armed forces of the
United States and making certain other changes in the Act.
