pafs to the left of each other, under the penalty of three dollars for every offence,
to be recovered and applied as aforefaid.
XXX. And be it enacted, That if the faid company fhall not proceed to carry
on faid work within two years after the paffing this act, and fhall not within
twenty years afterwards complete the faid road, according to the true intent and
meaning of this act, then, in either of thefe cafes, it fhall and may be lawful
for this ftate to referve all and fingular the rights, liberties and privileges, hereby
granted to the company.

C H A P. LXVI.
An ACT for the relief of certain foreigners therein mentioned.
WHEREAS George Bower, of Washington county, William Smith,
of Frederick county, Thomas White, of Baltimore county, and
George Cullidon, of the city of Baltimore, have emigrated to and
fettled in this ftate, and fince their emigration and fettlement in this ftate have
acquired real property therein, and their titles to fuch property, from their not
having become naturalized before fuch property was acquired by them, may be
called in queftion, to their great injury and detriment; therefore,

II. Be it enacted by the General Affembly of Maryland, That the title to
all the real property lawfully and fairly acquired by the aforefaid George Bower,
William Smith, Thomas White and George Cullidon, or either of them, whe-
ther fuch title be derived by grant, gift, purchafe or devife, be and the fame is
hereby as amply and as fully vefted in the aforefaid George Bower, William
Smith, Thomas White and George Cullidon, to all intents and purpofes, as if they
had refpectively been naturalised before their titles to fuch real property had been
acquired; faving neverthelefs to all perfons whatfoever who may have acquired, un-
der the prefent exifting laws of this ftate, a title to any part of the real eftate held by
the faid George Bower, William Smith, Thomas White or George Cullidon, or
either of them, or any perfon or perfons claiming under them, or either of them.

C H A P. LXVII.
An additional fupplement to an act, entitled, An act to ftreighten
and amend the federal public roads in feveral counties, and for
other purpofes therein mentioned.
WHEREAS by virtue of an act, entitled, A fupplement to an act, en-
titled, An act to ftreighten and amend the feveral public roads in
feveral counties, and for other purpofes therein mentioned, paffed at
November feffion, one thoufand feven hundred and ninety-one, a road has been
laid out from the eaft end of Patrick-ftreet, in Frederick-town, to crofs Mono-
cacy at Gember's ferry, thence, by William Hobb's to meet the Anne-Arundel
road leading from the Baltimore turnpike road towards Frederick-town: And
whereas part of the faid road lies in Baltimore-county, and between the lines of
Frederick and Anne-Arundel counties, and by the faid act no power is given to
the juftices of Baltimore county to levy money for the purpofe of keeping that

II. Be it enacted, by the General Affembly of Maryland, That fuch part of
the aforefaid road, as lies in Baltimore county be henceforth deemed and taken as
a public highway, and that the fame be hereafter kept up and repaired at the
county charge in the fame manner as other public roads in Baltimore county are.

John Neal's Lane in Harford county, to interfect a great road lead-
ing to the city of Baltimore, will be a great public convenience, and
