496 JOINT RESOLUTIONS
The Maryland Game and Inland Fish Commission and the United
States Fish and Wild Life Service are being requested to establish
additional resting and nesting areas for migratory birds in the
central and northern portions of the Eastern Shore of Maryland;
now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the Mary-
land Game and Inland Fish Commission and the United States Wild
Life Service be requested to cooperate in the establishment of addi-
tional resting areas for migratory birds on the Eastern Shore of
Maryland, particularly in the central and northern portions of the
Eastern Shore, and be it further
Resolved, That the Secretary of State of Maryland be requested
to send a copy of this Resolution under the Great Seal of the State
of Maryland to the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.

(Senate Joint Resolution 20)
Senate Joint Resolution requesting the Governor to appoint a coin-
mission to examine and revise the food, drug, poison and narcotic
laws of this State.
WHEREAS, The health and welfare of the people of the State of
Maryland are of great concern to the members of the Legislature of
Maryland; and
WHEREAS, the general health of the people of this State is pro-
tected to a great extent by the laws of this State relating to pure
foods and drugs, and to poison and narcotics, which laws have not
undergone major revision since the year 1910; and
WHEREAS, Twenty-nine of our sister states have enacted a code
of laws for consumer production in this field, which code of laws is
generally known as the Uniform Food and Drug Law; now, therefore,
be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the Governor
be requested to appoint a commission consisting of the Commissioner
of Health, the Chief of the Division of Drug Control, the Chief of the
Division of Food Control, and representatives from the medical
profession and pharmaceutical industry to examine and revise the
food, drug, poison, and narcotic laws of this State and further to
ascertain whether or not the adoption of the Uniform Food and Drug
Law would be in the best interest of the people of Maryland.
