of the licensee shall be registered in the registration book kept by
the Board. The license shall be effective immediately upon issue and
shall be valid up to and including the first day in the month of May
next following the issue of the license.

348. Renewals.

(a) Any license issued under the provisions of this subtitle cover-
ing the occupation of funeral director and embalmer in the State of
Maryland may be renewed annually as of the first day of May in
each year upon the payment of an annual renewal license fee in the
amount of $50 to the State Board of Funeral Directors and Em-
balmers.

(b) A renewal license shall be signed by the Secretary of the
State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers attested by its
seal; and such license may be issued by the Secretary of the Board
during the interim between meetings of the Board, upon proper
application and the payment of the prescribed license fee.

349. Reinstatements.

Any person licensed to practice the occupation of funeral director
and embalmer in this State who discontinues the practice of this
occupation and fails to secure the annual renewal of his license
during the period in which practice is discontinued, is entitled upon
request to a renewal of his license as a funeral director and embalmer.
With the application for renewal he must submit the current renewal
fee and an affidavit that during the period in which there was no
renewal of his license, he did not practice the occupation of funeral
director and embalmer in this State.

350. License not transferable.

The license issued under this subtitle for the occupation of funeral
director and embalmer in this State is neither assignable nor trans-
ferable from the name of the person to whom issued.

351. Partnerships and corporations.

(a) Nothing in this subtitle shall be construed as prohibiting two
or more persons holding licenses as funeral directors and embalmers
under this subtitle from operating a joint or partnership business,
if the business is conducted under the names of all such licensed
funeral directors and embalmers; but no funeral director or em-
balmer granted an original license under this subtitle shall conduct
business under any name other than the name appearing on his
license.

(b) Except as otherwise provided herein, the Board shall not
issue a license to any corporation to practice the occupation of fun-
eral director and embalmer, and the Board shall not register any cor-
poration on its registration list of licensees; except as otherwise
