of Correction as they existed immediately prior to the effective date
of this Act, including all other assets and all debts, obligations, and
all other liabilities of the Department of Correction and of the Board
of Correction as they existed immediately prior to the effective date
of this Act are transferred to and are the property rights and in
the custody of the Department of Correction herein constituted.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That all references in the laws,
regulations, ordinances, and resolutions of any department, board,
bureau, commission, or agency of this State or of any political sub-
division of this State, to the Board of Correction or to the Department
of Correction as they existed immediately prior to the effective date
of this Act, are changed to be references to the Department of
Correction as herein constituted.
SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this Act shall
be construed or applied to affect the legality of the incarceration of
any inmate in an institution operated by the Department of
Correction.
SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That all rules and regulations,
directives and operating procedures of the Board of Correction and
of the Department of Correction as they existed immediately prior
to the effective date of this Act except as in this Act specifically
changed, modified, or abrogated, are confirmed and continued in the
Department of Correction herein constituted, unless and until they
are specifically changed, modified, or abrogated.
SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1962.
