INTRODUCTION OF RESOLUTION
Senate Resolution No. 10—By Senator Pine:

Senate Resolution commending the Honorable George W. Della for
his services to the people of Maryland.

It is with extreme regret that we note that this special session will
be the last Senate meeting to be presided over by the Honorable
George W. Delia.

The President of the Senate has served in this body for twenty-
three years. He was appointed to fill a vacancy from the Sixth Dis-
trict of Baltimore City in 1939. Since then he has been elected to five
consecutive terms of office from Baltimore City.

He has served on two occasions as President of this body from
1951-1955, and again since 1959. His record is distinguished and
unparalleled. His contributions have been many to the efficient
functioning of government in Maryland; now, therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate of Maryland, That we commend the Presi-
dent of the Senate, the Honorable George W. Delia, for his service
to the people of the State of Maryland upon his retirement from this
body; and be it further

Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate send a copy of this Resolu-
tion to Senator and Mrs. George W. Delia.
