MARYLAND, Sct.:

At a Special Session of the General Assembly of Maryland, begun
and held in the City of Annapolis, on the twenty-fifth day of
May, 1962, the Honorable J. Millard T aw es, being Governor
of the State, the following laws were enacted, to wit:

CHAPTER 1
(House Bill 1)

AN ACT to add a new Section 42 to Article 40 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "General Assembly" to
follow immediately after Section 41 thereof, and to be under
the new sub-title "Apportionment", revising the provisions con-
cerning the membership of the House of Delegates and the repre-
sentation of the several political sub-divisions therein, making
provision for the nomination and election of certain candidates
for office in the House of Delegates,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 42 be and it is hereby added to Article 40 of the
