Senate Bill No. 9—By Senator Dean:
A Bill entitled: "An Act to propose an amendment to Section 3
of Article IV of the Constitution of Maryland, title 'Judiciary Department',
sub-title Tart I—General Provisions', to change the term of office of
judges in this State and to submit this amendment to the qualified voters
of the State for adoption or rejection. "
Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on Rules.

House Bill No. 1—By the Speaker:
A Bill entitled: "An Act to add a new Section 42 to Article 40 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title 'General Assembly',
to follow immediately after Section 41 thereof, and to be under the new
sub-title 'Apportionment', revising the provisions concerning the mem-
bership of the House of Delegates and the representation of the several
political sub-divisions therein, making provision for the nomination and
election of certain candidates for office in the House of Delegates and
relating generally to the membership and election of the members of the
House of Delegates of Maryland. "
Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on Rules.
REPORT OF RULES COMMITTEE
House Bill No. 1—By the Speaker:
A Bill entitled: "An Act to add a new Section 42 to Article 40 of

Mr. Delia, for the Rules Committee, recommended House Bill No. 1
be re-referred to the Judicial Proceedings Committee.
Said recommendation was approved and House Bill No. 1 was re-
ferred to the Judicial Proceedings Committee.
