INTRODUCTION OF BILLS
House Bill No. 13—By Messrs. Hickman and Pilchard:
A Bill entitled: "An Act to add a new Section 42 to Article 40 of
the Annotated C9de of Maryland (1957 Edition), title 'General Assembly',
to follow immediately after Section 41 thereof, and to be under the new
sub-title 'Apportionment', revising the provisions concerning the member-
ship of the House of Delegates and the representation of the several
political sub-divisions therein, making provision for the nomination and
election of certain candidates for office in the House of Delegates and
relating generally to the membership and election of the members of the
House of Delegates of Maryland. "
Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on Rules.

Amendments to House Bill No. 1
By the Committee:
Amendment No. 1—In line 8 of the title of the printed bill, imme-
diately following the word "Delegates" insert the following: ", making an
emergency appropriation to the Board of Public Works from the General
Fund Surplus of the State Treasury for the fiscal year ending June 30,
1963, to be used in whole or in part by the Board of Public Works to pay
a portion of the cost of special primary elections for this purpose, ".

Amendment No. 2—In line 10 of the title of the printed bill imme-
diately following the word "Maryland" add the following: "and to an
emergency appropriation from the State Treasury for the payment of
a portion of the cost of special elections under this Act".
