House Bill No. 8—By Messrs. Hickman and Pilchard:
A Bill entitled: "An Act to add a new Section 42 to Article 40 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title 'General Assembly',
to follow immediately after Section 41 thereof, and to be under the new
sub-title 'Apportionment', revising the provisions concerning the member-
ship of the House of Delegates and the representation of the House of
Delegates and the representation of the several political sub-divisions
therein, making provision for the nomination and election of certain
candidates for office in the House of Delegates and relating generally to
the membership and election of the members of the House of Delegates of
Maryland. "

A Bill entitled: "An Act to propose an amendment to Sections 5, 6
and 9 of Article III of the Constitution of Maryland, title 'Legislative
Department', revising the provisions concerning the membership of the
House of Delegates and the representation of the several political sub-
divisions therein, providing for a system of delegate districts and sub-
districts in the several counties and legislative districts, and submitting
this amendment to the qualified voters of the State for adoption or
rejection. "
