MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE
EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT

Annapolis, Md., March 9, 1962.

Mr. President and Members of the Senate:

I wish to express my personal appreciation to each of you for remain-
ing here during this extra period to carry on the lawmaking functions of
our State Government. I regret that the need arose to keep you here
beyond the period of the regular session, but it is my Constitutional re-
sponsibility, under extraordinary situations, to convene the General As-
sembly in special session to meet the demands of the occasion. It was
my judgment that such condition existed.
