retirement benefits and excepting certain county employees from
these benefits.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland)
That Section 171A of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County", sub-title "Re-
tirement System", said section having been added by Chapter 624 of
the Acts of 1961, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
171A.
All employees of St. Mary's County, excepting those who are
entitled to benefit under another County of State retirement system
and excepting those employees still em/ployed by the county, upon
completion of 25 years of service and attaining age ![70] sixty-five
(65) shall receive for the remainder of their lives a retirement benefit
of $125 per month from St. Mary's County, payable by the County
Commissioners from the general funds of the County. The receipt
of any earned income in excess of $200 per month by persons other-
wise entitled to a retirement benefit hereunder shall reduce such
retirement benefit dollar for dollar. The County Commissioners are
hereby authorized to adopt rules, not inconsistent herewith, for the
orderly administration of this retirement system. Nothing herein
shall be construed as creating any vested rights in present or future
employees of the County.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1962.

CHAPTER 6
(Senate Bill 8)
AN ACT to add new Section 16-41A to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Anne Arundel County (1957 Edition, being Article 2 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Anne Arundel County, "
sub-title "Police", directing the County Commissioners of Anne
Arundel County to pay the sum of Fifty ($50. 00) Dollars each
month to the parent or legal guardian of each minor child of any
member of the Anne Arundel County Police Force who died prior
to June 1, 1961 as a result of accident or disease incurred or
contracted while in the actual performance of police duty and as
a direct and natural result thereof.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 16-41A be and it is hereby added to the Code of
