nually on the Tuefday next after the commencement of each feffion thereof, and
the faid governor and council, who fhall have been elected and appointed nect
preceding the commencement of this act, fhall continue to act as fuch, and be
vefted with all the powers and authority given to them refpectively by the confti-

tution, until the appointment of a governor and council in firtue and pur-

fuance hereof.

LXIX.

IV. And be it enacted, That this act fhall be publifhed for the confideration
of the people at lead three months previous to the next election of delegates
if confirmed by the general affembly at their next feffion which fhall enfue the
faid general election, then this act, and the regulations herein contained, fhall be
taken and received as part of the conftitation and form of government of this
ftate, and every thing in the faid conftitation and form of government to the
contrary is and fhall be hereby repealed.

 

CHAP. LXX.
An ACT for the payment of the journal of accounts.

WHEREAS it appears by the journal of accounts of this feffion, that
there is now due from the ftate the furn of fix thoufand three hun-
dred and thirty-four pounds thirteen fhillings and four-pence, cur-
rent money,

Preamble.

II. Be it enacted, by the General Affembly of Maryland, That the treafurer of
the weftern fhore fhall and he is hereby authorised and required to pay the feveral
perfons, their executors, adminiftrators, affigns or orders, or to fuch of them as
fhall offer to receive the fame, the feveral fums of current money allowed to
them refpectively, as they appear to be fettled and afcertained by the faid journal
of accounts, out of any money now in the treaiury, or that fhall come into the
treafury, fubject, to the appropriation of the general affembly.

CHAP. LXXI.

 

An ACT to continue the acts of affembly therein mentioned.

Be it enacted, by the General Affembly of Maryland, That the following
acts of affembly, to wit: An act, entitled, An act relating to eftates of
deceafed perfons, paffed November feffion, one thoufand feven hundred
and feventy-nine; another act, entitled, An act to regulate public ferries, paffed
November feffion, one thoufand feven hundred and eighty-one, and a fupple-
ment thereto, paffed at April feffion, one thoufand feven hundred and eighty-
two, and an additional fupplement thereto, paffed at November feffion, one
thoufand feven hundred and ninety-one; another act, entitled, An act to prevent
the exportation of flour not merchantable from George-town, in Frederick coun-
ty, paffed Odober feffion, one thoufand feven hundred and feventy-one; another
act, entitled, An act to prevent the inconveniences of flaves being permitted to
act as free, paffed May feffion, one thoufand feven hundred and eighty-feven.;
another act, entitled, An act to encourage the deftroying of wolves, palled No-
vember feffion, one thoufand feven hundred and eighty-eight; another act, enti-
tled, An act to repeal part of an act, entitled, An act for the better adminiftra-
tion of juftice, &c. paffed November feffion, one thoufand feven hundred and
eighty-eight; another act, entitled, An act for the fpeedy conveyance of public
letters and packets, and for other purpofes, paffed November feffion, feventeen
hundred and ninety; another act, entitled, An additional fuppleinentary act to
the act, entitled, An act to eftablifh orphans courts in the feveral counties of this
ftate, paffed November feffion, feventeen hundred and ninety-one; another act,
entitled, An act refpecting the equity jurifdiction of the county courts paffed
November feffion, feventeen hundred and ninety-one, and a fupplement thereto,
paffed November feffion, feventeen hundred and ninety-two fhall be and they
are hereby refpectively continued until the thirtieth day of January feventeen
hundred and ninety-eight, fubjed neverthelefs to the operation of any laws fince
made, and which repeal, alter or change the faid laws or any part of them;
and another act, entitled, An act for the infpection of falted provifions exported
