Judges of the
orphans' court
may execute a
deed.

the aforesaid Catharine Colston, to wit: Ann Catharine
Callender Colston: Therefore,
Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the judges of the orphans'
court of Dorchester county, shall have full power and
authority, upon the application of the said William
Harrison (of James, ) to execute a sufficient deed of
bargain and sale, granting, conveying and confirming
to the said William Harrison (of James, ) and his heirs.

forever, the aforesaid lands and tenements called
"Tootle's Venture: " Provided, That the said judges
shall be satisfied that the said William Harrison (of
James, ) has in all respects complied with the terms of
sale aforesaid: Also provided, The said judges shall
be satisfied that the aforesaid Henry Colston, senior,
has, by a good and sufficient deed of bargain and sale,
executed and recorded, conveyed and effectually se-
cured, according" to law, to Ann Catharine Callender
Colston, the child and heir of Catharine Colston, de-
ceased, the said tract of land called "Pilgrimage; " and
that the said tract of land called "Pilgrimage, " is at
least equal in value to the one-fourth part of "Tootle's
Venture, "directed to be conveyed to the said William
Harrison (of James, ) as aforesaid.

corded.

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said deed
of bargain and sale from the judges of the orphans'
court of Dorchester county, as aforesaid, to William
Harrison (of James, ) shall be recorded in the clerk's
office of Dorchester county, among the land records of
said county, within six months after the execution
thereof, and when so recorded shall have the same ope-
ration and effect in law as a deed of bargain" and sale
for the same lands, executed by the said Samuel Col-
ston and Catharine Colston, deceased, in their life
time, and recorded agreeably to law, would or could
have had.

A supplement to the act entitled, "An act to incorpo-
rate a company to make a turnpike road leading to
Cumberland^ and for the extension of the charters
of the several banks in this state, and for other pur-
poses. "

sembly of Maryland, That so much of the act to which
this is a supplement as directs that part of the road from
Hancock-Town to Cumberland, in Allegany county,
to be made as near the route as located by Messieurs
