THAN TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) OR MORE THAN
FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00).

673. All funds received by the Director from registration fees, and
from forfeiture of bonds, and of cash deposits and securities, shall
be held by the State Treasurer in a special fund, separate and apart
from all other moneys in the State Treasury, to be known as the
"Bituminous Coal Open Pit Mining Reclamation Fund", and shall be
used by the Director of the Bureau of Mines for the sole purpose of
[foresting or reclaiming] backfilling land affected by open pit min-
ing of bituminous coal, and for such purposes are hereby specifically
appropriated to the Bureau of Mines, funds received from the for-
feiture of bonds and cash deposited in lieu of bonds shall be expended
by the Director of the Bureau of Mines upon lands in which the
operation occurred for which liability was charged on the bond other
money in said fund shall be spent at the discretion of the Director
of the Bureau of Mines for backfilling [or planting].

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That Sections 664, 666, 667,
668, AND 669 and 672 of said Article 66C, be and they are hereby
repealed.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 654
(House Bill 544)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 1562 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1953
Edition), and Section 74-27 of the Montgomery County Code (1955
Edition), being, respectively, Articles 17 and 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, titles "Prince George's County"
and "Montgomery County", sub-title "Washington Suburban Sani-
tary District", as said sections were last repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, by Chapter 79 of the Acts of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland of 1955, relating generally to the Washington
Suburban Sanitary Commission, including the method of appoint-
ment, political affiliation,
term of office, duties, and compensation
of the members thereof.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 1562 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County (1953 Edition), being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Wash-
ington Suburban Sanitary District", said section being also Section
