title "Benefits", changing the age at which persons who have been
furloughed must actively seek work in order to be eligible for un-
employment benefits in this State.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 5 of Article 95A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition and 1958 Supplement), title "Unemployment In-
surance Law", sub-title "Benefits", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
5. Any [male] person, age [sixty-five (65)] sixty (60) or over
[and any female person, age sixty-two (62) or over,] who has been
temporarily furloughed and is subject to recall shall not be required
to be actively seeking work to be eligible for benefits under this
article.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 623
(House Bill 275)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 5 (d)
of Article 38 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Fines and Forfeitures", relating to increase in annual
expenditures for law library in Charles County under the super-
vision of the Judge of Charles County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 5 (d) of Article 38 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Fines and Forfeitures", be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
5.
(d) In Charles County, if in any fiscal year, commencing July 1,
1958, the said payments to the court library of one-half the fines
imposed and recognizances forfeited is less THAN [six hundred dollars
($600.00)] one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00), the
County Commissioners thereof shall pay to the Clerk of the Court,
for the use of said library, whatever amount may be necessary to
bring to [six hundred dollars ($600.00)] one thousand five hundred
dollars ($1,500.00) in the aggregate, the total amount to be paid
to said library during that year under the provisions of this section,
and in addition to the amount to be paid as aforesaid, said County
Commissioners may, in their discretion, pay such sums over and,
above the one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) hereinabove
provided for, as they consider reasonable for the proper maintenance
