SHALL BE FILLED FOR THE UNEXPIRED TERMS OF ANY
MEMBER WHOSE TERM BECOMES VACANT. PROVIDED,
HOWEVER, THAT IN ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY SAID BOARD
SHALL CONSIST OF FIVE MEMBERS FOR TERMS OF FIVE
YEARS AND SHALL BE CONSIDERED AS THE FINAL AU-
THORITY IN MATTERS OF CONFLICT WITH OTHER LICENSE
BOARDS OF THE COUNTY IN MATTERS RELATING TO CON-
STRUCTION, ZONING, MEASURED DISTANCE, LOCATIONS
AND OTHER MATTERS GENERALLY RELATED THERETO.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing herein shall be
construed as affecting the tenure in office of the present members of
the said Board. The two members shall be appointed by the Governor
for terms of six years each to commence on June 1, 1959.
IF THEY
ARE OTHERWISE QUALIFIED.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 601
(Senate Bill 146)

AN ACT to add new Sections 645A to 645-I, 645K TO 645S, inclu-
sive, to Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957
Edition AND 1958 SUPPLEMENT), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments", to follow immediately after Section 645 645J thereof and
to be under the new sub-title "Employment of Prisoners", provid-
ing for the employment of prisoners held by Harford AND ANNE
ARUNDEL County during their detention, providing for their
confinement when not employed, providing further for a diminu-
tion of their sentences, and relating generally to the custody of
prisoners in Harford AND ANNE ARUNDEL County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 645A to 645-I, 645K TO 645S, inclusive, be and
they are hereby added to Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition AND 1958 SUPPLEMENT), title "Crimes and
Punishments", said new sections to follow immediately after Section
645 645J thereof and to be under the new sub-title "Employment of
Prisoners", and all to read as follows:

Employment of Prisoners

645A. K. Whenever a person shall be convicted of crime and sen-
tenced to imprisonment in any county, town or city jail,

COUNTY, the judge imposing sentence may prescribe that insofar
