SAID ARTICLE 2B TO FOLLOW IMMEDIATELY AFTER SEC-
TION 158 (K) THEREOF, AND TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
158.
(l). No COUNTY commissioner, or county employee, OF WOR-
CESTER COUNTY shall solicit or receive directly or indirectly any
commission, remuneration or gift whatsoever from any person, or
corporation engaged in the manufacture or sale of beer or other alco-
holic beverages, nor from any agent or employee of such person or
corporation, or from any licensee, licensed under the provisions of
this article. No person or corporation engaged in the manufacture or
sale of beer or other alcoholic beverages, nor any agent or employee
of such person or corporation, and no licensee licensed under the pro-
vision of this article, shall, either directly or indirectly, offer to pay
any commission, profit or remuneration or make any gift to any
commissioner or county employee or to anyone on behalf of such
commissioner or county employee. No commissioner COUNTY COM-
MISSIONER OF WORCESTER COUNTY shall receive any ADDI-
TIONAL compensation for serving on the Board.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 590
(Senate Bill 477)
AN ACT to repeal Sections 521 to 527, inclusive, of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Washington County (1957 Edition, being
Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Washington County", sub-title "Roads", and to enact in lieu
thereof new Sections 521 to 527, inclusive, to stand in the place
and stead of the sections so repealed, relating to the control over
county roads in Washington County, providing for the duties of
the Road Engineer therein, providing a penalty for placing ob-
structions on roads in said county, empowering the County Com-
missioners to make a county levy to pay costs resulting from con-
struction and maintenance of roads in said county and relating
generally to roads in Washington County.
Whereas, Sections 521 to 527, inclusive, of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Washington County (1957 Edition) were enacted by
Chapter 75 of the Acts of 1924 subject to final ratification by refer-
endum of the voters of Washington County; and
Whereas, The said voters rejected the Act on referendum vote
in 1924, but the results thereof were not reported to the Secretary
of State as provided by law; and
