sub-title "Forests and Parks", said new sections to be known as
Sections 375A to 375E, 375D, inclusive, to follow immediately after
Section 375 thereof, and to be under the new sub-heading "Trans-
portation of Christmas Trees and Evergreen Shrubs", relating to
the transportation of trees and shrubs and requiring certain trans-
porters of trees to carry a bill of sale invoice, or sworn statement
of ownership and upon failure to do so, making such transporters
subject to fine or imprisonment, . impoundment of trees and regu-
lating their disposition.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That five FOUR new sections be and they are hereby added to Article
66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Nat-
ural Resources", sub-title "Forests and Parks", said new sections to
be known as Sections 375A to 375E, 375D, inclusive, to follow imme-
diately after Section 375 thereof and to be under the new sub-heading
"Transportation of Christmas Trees and Evergreen Shrubs", all to
read as follows:

Transportation of Christmas Trees and Evergreen Shrubs

375A. Except in trucks and trailers licensed for and engaged in
interstate commerce, any person who drives or operates a truck,
trailer, or other vehicle upon any public highway, road or street in
this State for the purpose of transporting five or more trees, or
one hundred pounds or more of boughs, of any species of pine, spruce,
fir, hemlock, or other narrow-leafed or broad-leafed evergreen tree
or shrub, shall have upon his person during such transporting, a
bill of sale for such trees, shrubs or boughs signed by the owner or
custodian of the lands from which such trees, shrubs or boughs
were cut or removed. Such bill of sale shall state the date of sale;
the number and species of trees, or pounds and species of boughs, be-
ing transported; the number of the election district, the name of the
county and state where such lands, from which such trees, shrubs
or boughs were cut and removed, are situated; and the proper
postal address of the landowner or custodian. If
OR IF such trees or
boughs have been obtained from a dealer in such goods, the bill of sale
or invoice shall clearly show his name and the place of business from
which the trees or boughs were obtained. This section does not ap-
ply to the transportation of trees, shrubs or boughs by the owner or
custodian of lands from which such trees, shrubs or boughs were cut
or removed.

TODIAN.

375B. Whenever any trees, shrubs or boughs described in Sec-
tion 372A
375A of this sub-title are intended to be transported within
this State by the owner or custodian of the lands from which such
trees, shrubs or boughs were cut or removed, a sworn statement of
ownership
OR BY THE AGENT OF SUCH OWNER OR CUSTO-
DIAN, IDENTIFICATION OF SUCH OWNER, CUSTODIAN OR
