commissioners are specifically authorized to add to the compensation
of such other justices as may act as committing justices for the trial
magistrates in proportion to the amount of work such other justices
may be called upon from time to time to perform. The annual sal-
aries of trial magistrates and constables at large shall be paid in
equal monthly amounts. Any incorporated municipality in any
county may add to the compensation herein provided for such other
justices as may act as committing justices, in consideration of
services rendered in cases involving violations of municipal ordi-
nances, provided that such compensation shall not be on a fee basis.
In Harford County it shall be the duty of the County Commis-
sioners to supplement the statutory salaries of Committing Magis-
trates where the work load justifies such increased compensation, .
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
January 1, 1960.

(Senate Bill 127)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 163(l)
of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "County Liquor Control
Boards and Dispensaries", relating to the appointment and salary
of an alcoholic beverages law enforcement officer in Worcester
County and relating generally to alcoholic beverages in Worces-
ter County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 163(1) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "County
Liquor Control Boards and Dispensaries", be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and to read as follows:
163(1) Worcester County.—In Worcester County, in addition
to the other powers listed in this section, the board shall [have
power to employ an officer to enforce the laws relating to alcoholic
beverages in said county and to pay him compensation, as it may
fix, from its funds] pay the salary, not to exceed the sum of thirty-
five hundred dollars ($3,500.00) annually, of an officer to enforce
the laws relating to alcoholic beverages in said county. The officer
shall be appointed by the COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SUBJECT
TO THE APPROVAL BY State's Attorney of the county. The liquor
control board in Worcester County shall not sell beer at a profit in
excess of ten cents per case or one dollar per barrel.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.
