CHAPTER 55
(House Bill 45)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 38 (d)
of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1959 1957
Edition), title "Workmen's Compensation", sub-title "Claims and
Compensation; Benefits", changing an incorrect cross reference in
the section of the Workmen's Compensation Laws relating to notices
of injury or death and reports of accidents given to employers and
to the Workmen's Compensation Commission.
Whereas, In Section 38 (d) of Article 101 of the Code, there is a
cross reference to "the preceding paragraph"; and
Whereas, This cross reference originally was to Sub-section (b)
of Section 38 but is now incorrect and misleading because of the
subsequent addition of a new Sub-section (c); and
Whereas, A correction should be made in order to make the direct
reference to Sub-section (b); now, therefore
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 34 (d) of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Workmen's Compensation", sub-title
"Claims and Compensation; Benefits", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
38.
(d) Penalty.—Any employer who shall fail to report any accident
within the time prescribed in [the preceding paragraph] Subsection
(b) of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon con-
viction thereof shall be fined not more than fifty dollars ($50.00).
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

(House Bill 46)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 438 of
Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Perjury", correcting
an error in a cross reference in the law concerning subornation of
perjury.
Whereas, in Section 438 of Article 27 of the Code relating to sub-
ornation of perjury, there is a cross reference to Sections 436 and
437 of that Article; and
Explanation: Italics indicate new matter added to existing law.
[Brackets] indicate matter stricken from existing law.
CAPITALS indicate amendments to bill.
Strike out indicates matter stricken out of bill.
