640                              Laws of Maryland                       [Ch. 499

Chapter 1, Acts of 1959, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments, to read as follows:

4. (a) The Commission shall have authority and power to [make
such] conduct and participate in State or Federal conferences, sur-
veys and studies concerning the problems of the aging as it may
determine, to promote in every manner possible the welfare and the
betterment of the aged people of this State. In [making such] con-
ducting such conferences,
studies and surveys, it shall be authorized
to expend any funds which may be provided for in the budget or
otherwise made available to the Commission, including Federal funds
that are now or hereafter become available.

The Commission shall cooperate with and receive the cooperation
of other State and Federal agencies, departments, boards, and com-
missions in effectuating the purposes of this Article.

The Commission or its Executive Director is authorized to accept
and use any Federal funds for the purposes specified herein above.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 499
(House Bill 725)

AN ACT to add Section 187A to Article 66½ of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-
title "Operation of Vehicles Upon Highways", to follow im-
mediately after Section 187 thereof, giving to the County Roads
Board in Queen Anne's County AND THE COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS OF ALLEGANY COUNTY power to regulate the speed
of vehicles on certain roads within said County COUNTIES and
to provide penalties for violations.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
that new Section 187A be and the same is hereby added to Article
66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Motor
Vehicles", sub-title "Operation of Vehicles Upon Highways", to
follow immediately after Section 187 thereof, to read as follows:

187A. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this Article, the
County Roads Board in Queen Anne's County is
AND THE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF ALLEGANY COUNTY ARE authorized
and empowered to regulate the speed of vehicles on any road, street,
lane or alley within Queen Anne's County which is
SAID COUNTIES
WHICH ARE not within the corporate limits of any incorporated
