Laws of Maryland, title "Howard County", sub-title "Metropolitan
Commission". Said new Section to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 140 and to be known as Section 140A, authorizing the Howard
County Metropolitan Commission to sell land and buildings or
release easements, with the consent and approval of the County
Commissioners of Howard County, which are not necessary in the
operation and maintenance of the water, sewer or drainage sys-
tems of the Howard County Metropolitan Commission.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be, and the same is hereby added to the Howard
County Code (Everstine's 1957 Edition), being Article 14 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Howard County", sub-title
"Metropolitan Commission", said new section to follow immediately
after Section 140 thereof and to be known as Section 140A, and to
read as follows:

Sale of Land, Buildings and Release Easements by Com-
mission.
Whenever the Commission shall determine that any land,
buildings or easements, which it owns, is not necessary in the main-
tenance and operation of its water, sewer or drainage systems, then
it shall, with the consent and approval of the said County Commis-
sioners of Howard County, be vested with full power and authority
to sell the said land and buildings or release easements, as the case
may be, upon such terms and conditions as it shall deem reasonable
and proper. Deeds for the transfer of any such property sold, or
easements released, under this Section, shall be executed by the said
Metropolitan Commission and the said County Commissioners and
the proceeds therefrom shall be placed in the general account of the
said Metropolitan Commission.

Sec 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate preser-
vation of the public health and safety, the same shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

(House Bill 692)

AN ACT to add new Section 45C to Article 7 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Carroll County",
sub-title "County Commissioners", to follow immediately after
Section 45B thereof, as added by Chapters 697 and 726 of 1957,
relating to secretarial assistance for the Delegates in the General
Assembly from Carroll County, and relating generally thereto.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 45C be and it is hereby added to Article 7 of the
