CHAPTER 424
(Senate Bill 559)

AN ACT to add new Section 414 to Article 18 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's
County", to follow immediately after Section 413 thereof, and to be
under the new sub-title "Tax Exemptions", Section 414 having
been repealed by Chapter 187 of the Acts of 1957, providing for a
county tax exemption in Queen Anne's County for certain tools,
machinery, raw materials, inventories, and other items and vali-
dating and confirming a certain exemption granted by the Board
of County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County in a Resolution
dated March 30, 1948.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 414 be and the same is hereby added to Article 18
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Queen Anne's County", to follow immediately after Section 413
thereof, to be under the new sub-title "Tax Exemptions", Section 414
having been repealed by Chapter 187 of the Acts of 1957, and to read
as follows:

There shall be exempt from county taxation in Queen Anne's
County, tools (including mechanical tools), implements, whether
worked by hand, steam or other motive power, machinery, manufac-
turing apparatus, or engines used in manufacturing whether tem-
porarily idle or not, as well as raw materials and inventories of those
manufacturers engaged in the first processing of agricultural com-
modities for human consumption.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That any exemption as to
county taxes in Queen Anne's County heretofore granted by the
Board of County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County under the
authority contained in a certain resolution of the said Board, dated
March 30, 1948, is validated and confirmed in all respects as legal
and proper.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.
