CHAPTER 345
(House Bill 435)
AN ACT to add a new Section to Article 56 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-title "Mode of
Issuing—General Provisions", said new Section to follow immedi-
ately after Section 1 of said Article and sub-title, and to be known
as Section 1A, providing that all licenses issued by Clerks of Court
shall be ratable quarterly, and establishing a minimum fee in any
case.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section be added to Article 56 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-title "Mode of Issuing
—General Provisions", to follow immediately after Section 1 of said
Article and to be known as Section 1A, said new Section to read as
follows:
1 A. All licenses issued under this sub-title by the Clerks of the
Courts for the Counties and the Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas
in the City of Baltimore shall be issued on an annual basis, except
where a different mode is provided. However, when the licensee
engages in business in any other month subsequent to May 1st, then
such license shall be issued from such month and a ratable sum on
a quarterly basis shall be charged therefor. The minimum license
fee in any case shall be $2.50
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
May 1, 1960.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 17 of
Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Ed.), title
"Licenses", sub-title "Music Boxes", eliminating the fee for each
independent coin-operated speaker, eliminating the requirement
of metal tag on machine or device, and requiring that license be
