mission of Maryland in charge of the vehicular crossing, or the au-
thorized employee performing his duties in his absence.

(l) Taxicab: shall mean a motor vehicle used in the transportation
of persons, for hire, having a seating capacity of seven (7) or fewer
persons.

(m) Tractor: shall mean a vehicle designed for drawing or towing
other vehicles and having no space for the carrying of a load or
cargo.

(n) Traffic: in addition to its generally accepted meaning, shall
include pedestrians, animals ridden or herded, and vehicles propelled
by human power.

(o) Trailer: shall mean a vehicle (other than semi-trailer), not
self-propelled, designed and constructed to be towed.

(p) Truck: shall mean a motor vehicle designed, used or registered
for the transportation of goods, wares, merchandise or bulk cargo.

(q) Tunnel: shall mean the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel, sometimes
known as the Patapsco Tunnel.

(r) Vehicular Crossing: shall include not only the Tunnels and
Bridges operated and maintained by the Toll Facilities Department
of the State Roads Commission of Maryland, but also the approaches
thereto as above defined.

(s) Unusual Vehicle: shall include those which because of weight,
height, length or width require special permits to travel on the
highway.

383. Traffic using the vehicular crossings shall at all times comply
with any lawful sign, order, signal or direction by voice, sign or hand
of authorized employees of the vehicular crossing.

384. Pedestrians and bicycles are prohibited from using the ve-
hicular crossings.

385.  Hitchhiking is prohibited on any of the vehicular crossings,
and it shall also be unlawful for motorists to pick-up or discharge
any person on any of the vehicular crossings.

386.  Vehicles shall not stop, stand or park on any vehicular cross-
ing except:

(a)  when necessary to avoid injury or damage to persons and
property.

(b)  in compliance with the lawful direction of authorized em-
ployees of the vehicular crossing.

(c)  at designated areas for the transactions of business at the Ad-
ministration Buildings.

(d)  if disabled, in which case it shall be withdrawn, if possible,
to the shoulder of the roadway, or adjacent to the emergency walk-
way on a bridge, or moved as directed by a Patrol Officer.

387. No vehicular turns shall be made in areas where turns are
prohibited by signs or at cross-overs provided for emergency vehicles,
except at the lawful direction of authorized employees of the ve-
hicular crossing.
