County Commissioners, who shall receive such compensation and
have such powers and duties as shall be determined and prescribed
by said Commissioners. His term of office shall not extend beyond the
term of the Board making the appointment, but he shall be eligible
to re-appointment by any successor Board. The person so selected
shall be a registered voter and taxpayer in Carroll County. After
his appointment by said Commissioners he shall take the oath pre-
scribed by Section 6 of Article 1 of the Constitution of Maryland,
and may be required to give bond for the faithful performance of
the duties of his office in such penalty as the Commissioners may
prescribe, and his services in such office may be terminated at any
time by said Commissioners upon not less than two months9 written
notice.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 305

(Senate Bill 494)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 19 (m) of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Beer, Wine, and Liquor
Licenses", relating to licensing and hours of sale of alcoholic
beverages in Ocean City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 19 (m) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Beer, Wine,
and Liquor Licenses", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

19.

(m). Bona fide hotels having twenty (20) or more rooms, regularly
serving meals, or restaurants as such restaurants are by ordinance
defined by the mayor and city council of Ocean City, upon compliance
with the general provisions and regulations of this article, and upon
payment of an annual license fee as hereinafter provided shall, with
the approval of the mayor and city council of Ocean City, be entitled
to a license entitling such hotel or restaurant to serve liquors, wines
and beers within the corporate limits of said town of Ocean City
[between] during the hours [of 7 A. M. and 11:00 P. M. and pro-
vided, however, that no alcoholic beverages may be sold as provided
under this sub-title on the first day of the week, commonly called
Sunday;] as provided in Section 106 of this Article; and provided
further, that such licensees shall purchase all liquors and wines from
