on the written notice or that the change should be made, notice shall
be sent the applicant by mail directing him or her to appear at the
office of the board to answer such questions under oath as may be
deemed necessary. If an applicant so notified fails to appear at the
office of the board as directed, no such entry of change of residence
or affiliation shall be made.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to add new Section 432(c) to Article 81 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1958 Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes",
sub-title "State Tobacco Tax Act", sub-heading "Exemptions", to
follow immediately after Section 432(b) thereof, exempting from
the State Tobacco Tax Act cigarettes held for sale to Army, Air
Force, Navy or Coast Guard exchanges.; AND TO ADD NEW
SECTION 456A TO SAID ARTICLE 81 OF SAID CODE AND
OF SAID TITLE AND SUB-TITLE, UNDER THE SUB-HEAD-
ING "TRANSPORTATION OF CIGARETTES", TO FOLLOW
IMMEDIATELY AFTER SECTION 456 THEREOF, PROVID-
ING RESTRICTIONS ON THE POSSESSION OF ANY UN-
STAMPED CIGARETTES SOLD BY ANY SUCH EXCHANGES.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 432 (c) be and the same is hereby added to Article
81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1958 Supplement), title
"Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "State Tobacco Tax Act", sub-heading
"Exemptions", to follow immediately after Section 432(b) thereof,
and to read as follows:
432.
(c). The tax hereby levied shall not apply to cigarettes which are
held in the State of Maryland for sale to Army, Air Force, Navy or
Coast Guard exchanges.
SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT NEW SEC-
TION 456A BE AND IT IS HEREBY ADDED TO SAID ARTICLE
81 OF SAID CODE AND OF SAID TITLE AND SUB-TITLE,
UNDER THE SUB-HEADING "TRANSPORTATION OF CIGAR-
ETTES", TO FOLLOW IMMEDIATELY AFTER SECTION 456
