primarily for human habitation from the assessment of the local
property tax in Carroll County, Frederick County, Harford County
and St. Mary's County, notwithstanding any fees paid to the De-
partment of Motor Vehicles for the privilege of the use of the high-
ways by such house trailers.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, sub-sections (f)
and (i) of Section 6 of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition, as amended), title "Justices of the Peace",
sub-title "Civil Jurisdiction", raising to one thousand dollars the
monetary limitations of civil jurisdiction of the People's Court for
Montgomery County in all cases instituted after June 1, 1959.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That sub-sections (f) and (i) of Section 6 of Article 52 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, as amended), title "Justices
of the Peace", sub-title "Civil Jurisdiction", be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

(f) Five hundred dollars in certain other counties.—Trial Magis-
trates of Dorchester County [, Montgomery County] and Talbot
County shall have civil jurisdiction in all cases hereinbefore
mentioned in this Section, instituted after June 1, 1953, and involving
amounts not exceeding five hundred dollars. [Provided, however,
that in Montgomery County the jurisdiction specified shall be appli-
cable to the judges of the People's Court of Montgomery County.]
(i) [Prince George's County.] One thousand dollars in certain
counties. In addition to the jurisdiction hereinbefore granted in this
Section, trial magistrates in Prince George's County shall have
civil jurisdiction in all cases instituted after June 1, 1953, and in-
volving amounts not exceeding one thousand dollars and judges of
the People's Court of Montgomery County shall have civil jurisdic-
tion in all cases instituted after June 1, 1959, and involving amounts
not exceeding one thousand dollars,
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.
