to follow immediately after Section 5 (e), relating to the use of
fines imposed and recognizances forfeited to the circuit court of
Worcester County and contributions from the County Commis-
sioners for the augmentation of the court library in Worcester
County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 5 (f) be and it is hereby added to Article 38 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title 'Tines and
Forfeitures", to follow immediately after Section 5 (e), and to read
as follows:
5.
(f) In Worcester County, if in any year the said payments to the
court library of one-half the fines imposed and recognizances forfeited
is less than Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars ($750.00), the County
Commissioners thereof shall pay to the clerk of the court, for use
of said library, whatever amount may be necessary to bring to Seven
Hundred Fifty Dollars ($750.00) in the aggregate the total amount
to be paid to said library during that year under the workings of
this section.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

(House Bill 355)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 37 (t)
of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Sheriffs", sub-title "Compensation and Duties", increasing
annual aggregate compensation of the Sheriff's office and requiring
24 hour operation of said office in Talbot County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 37 (t) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Sheriffs", sub-title "Compensation and Duties",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
37.
(t) Talbot County.—In Talbot County the Sheriff shall receive an
annual salary of $1,800. He may appoint, subject to the approval
of the County Commissioners of the county, such deputies as he may
