Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Harford County", sub-title
"Taxes and County Treasurer", to follow immediately after Section
494 thereof, providing for the County Commissioners of Harford
County to acquire land, construct, and maintain public buildings,
and borrow money to carry out the aforesaid program; and relating
generally to the County Commissioners of Harford County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 494A be and the same is hereby added to the Code
of Public Local Laws of Harford County (1957 Edition, being Article
13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Harford
County", sub-title "Taxes and County Treasurer", to follow imme-
diately after Section 494 thereof, and to read as follows:
494A. The County Commissioners of Harford County are hereby
authorized to acquire land for construction of buildings for author-
ized county functions, to construct necessary office facilities, to main-
tain, improve, or expand the court house, and to appropriate money
from the general funds of the county for such purposes. At their
discretion, the County Commissioners may borrow sufficient funds to
exercise the powers granted by this section, provided that the sums
borrowed hereunder shall not exceed Two Hundred and Fifty Thou-
sand Dollars ($250,000), and each loan shall be payable within five
years from the date of the delivery of the notes or certificates of
indebtedness. This authority shall be a continuing one and the limita-
tion of indebtedness is not intended to limit the number of loans, but
merely the maximum indebtedness incurred hereunder at any single
point in time.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to add new Section 216A to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Harford County (1957 Edition, being Article 13 of the Public
Local Laws of Maryland), title "Harford County", sub-title "Coun-
ty Commissioners", to follow immediately after Section 216 thereof
providing; for the creation, duties, and powers of the Harford
County Capital Improvements Commission, and relating generally
to capital improvements in Harford County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 216A be and it is hereby added to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Harford County (1957 Edition, being Article
