collected in prior years by past Boards, which funds are not desig-
nated for any purposes, and which are not being used for any
purpose other than accumulation of interest; to be distributed as
current funds of the Board are distributed annually; to authorize
the said Board to finally dispose of said funds without future
redress to the said Board.

Whereas, the Board of Alcoholic Beverage License Commissioners
of Washington County has on savings or time deposit in the banks
of Hagerstown, a sum slightly in excess of $20,000.00, these sums
having been deposited many years ago by a predecessor Board; and

Whereas, from time to time interest has been taken out of these
accounts and put in a general checking account for use by the Board;
and

Whereas, the present Board is of the opinion that these sums are
not necessary for the operation of the business of the Board and
should be disposed of in accordance with law; and

Whereas, because of the time factor involved, the Board requests
this Act to preclude possible redress because of possible lack of
authority to distribute these funds under the existing laws; now
therefore

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Board of Alcoholic Beverage License Commissioners of
Washington County be authorized and empowered to distribute the
money in savings accounts and time deposits heretofore collected in
prior years by a predecessor Board, being a sum slightly in excess
of $5,000.00, $20,000.00, in the same proportion and using the same
formula as used in its annual May distribution, without future re-
dress to said Board;

And be it further enacted, That the said Board accomplish the
above during the month of July, 1959.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

Approved March 24, 1959.
