cupancy of said building, structure, or land, or to prevent any illegal
act, conduct business, or use in or about such premises.
(c) In Washington County a violation of this sub-title or of any
ordinance, rule, regulation or restriction adopted pursuant to this
sub-title is a misdemeanor, punishable upon conviction by a fine not
to exceed one hundred dollars. Each day the violation continues is a
separate offense. In addition to any other remedies, the Board of
County Commissioners may institute any appropriate action or
proceedings to compel compliance with any such ordinance, rule,
regulation or restriction.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

(House Bill 276)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 88 (d)
of Article 78 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1958 Supple-
ment), title "Public Service Commission Law", sub-title "Pro-
cedure Before Commission", relating to public service companies
which must pay annual filing fee.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 88 (d) of Article 78 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1958 Supplement), title "Public Service Commission Law",
sub-title "Procedure Before Commission", be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
88.
(d) Annual filing fee.—In addition to all other fees and charges
specified in this section or elsewhere in this article, there is hereby
imposed upon every public service company, whose gross receipts
amount to $10,000.00 or more, an annual filing fee in an amount
equal to one-twentieth of one per centum (1/20%) of the company's
annual gross receipts for the preceding year. The fee shall be pay-
able on or before April 1 in any year, with the computation being
based upon the gross receipts for the preceding calendar year.
"Gross receipts" shall apply only to the revenues from such types
of utility business and operations as are within the regulatory juris-
diction of the Commission. The proceeds of the filing fees shall be
accounted for monthly into the general funds of the State treasury.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.
