Provided, however, that in Harford County no person who has not
qualified to receive the compensation provided for hereinabove in
this section prior to June 1, 1951, shall be permitted to qualify for
such additional compensation on or after June 1, 1951.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 149
(Senate Bill 102)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 152,
156A, 156D, 156L, 156M, 156-O, 156Q and 156X of Article 15 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Kent County", sub-title "County Treasurer", as said sections were
last amended either by Chapter 511 of the Acts of 1941 or by
Chapter 453 of the Acts of 1943; and to repeal Sections 156E,
156F, 156G, 156H, 156-I, 156J, 156K and 156P of said Article and
sub-title, as last amended by Chapter 511 of the Acts of 1941,
removing obsolete provisions from the laws concerning the County
Treasurer of Kent County, eliminating from the laws concerning
the duties of the Treasurer certain provisions concerning tax sales
which no longer are applicable; providing that nothing in this Act
shall affect any transaction under the tax sales laws heretofore
existing if such transaction is still unsettled or incompleted for
any reason, and relating generally to the office and to the duties of
the County Treasurer of Kent County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 152, 156A, 156D, 156L, 156M, 156-O, 156Q and 156X
of Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Kent County", sub-title "County Treasurer", as said
sections were last amended either by Chapter 511 of the Acts of 1941
or by Chapter 453 of the Acts of 1943, be and they are hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments; and that Sections 156E,
156F, 156G, 156H, 156-I, 156J, 156K and 156P of said Article and
sub-title, as last amended by Chapter 511 of the Acts of 1941, be and
they are hereby repealed, and to read as follows:
152. At the General Election of Delegates to be held on the
Tuesday after the first Monday in November, 1942, and every four
years thereafter there shall be elected a County Treasurer for Kent
County by the qualified voters of said County, who shall hold his
office for the term of four years from the first day of January fol-
lowing and until a successor is elected and qualified. [, except that
the Treasurer elected in 1942 shall serve from June 1, 1943, until
January 1, 1947. Provided, further, that nothing] Nothing in this
