Whereas, It is felt that Maryland egg producers have a competi-
tive advantage for the production of table eggs. Some 40 million
consumers are located in a radius of 250 miles of the Eastern Shore;
and
Whereas, This problem requires study and complete survey;
now, therefore be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That a committee
be appointed by the Governor to study the possibility of increasing
egg production in Maryland; and be it further
Resolved, That this committee consult with the Maryland Poultry
Council and the University of Maryland, Agriculture Economics
Department and Poultry Department, and consist of at least one
member of the Senate and one member of the House of Delegates,
together with members of the Maryland Egg Promotion Committee,
and/or any other person or persons so designated by the Governor.

House Joint Resolution urging the study of the Migratory Bird Laws.
Whereas, There are, at present, many differences between the
Federal and State Laws and Regulations governing migratory
birds; and
Whereas, These differences have led to difficulty in enforcement
and has brought about considerable trouble in the development of
an overall Wildlife Conservation Program in this area; and
Whereas, There is a definite need for the study of the migratory
bird laws of Maryland with the view of recodification and correla-
ting these laws with the Federal Regulations; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the Gov-
ernor appoint a committee composed of a member of the General
Assembly, the Director of the Game and Inland Fish Commission,
one representative of each of the following organizations: The As-
sociated Sportsmen's Club of the Eastern Shore, the Central
Association of Sportsmen's Clubs, the Western Association of Sports-
men's Clubs and a representative of the U. S. Fish and Wildlife
Service. This Commission shall study the migratory bird laws and
report to the General Assembly by the 1960 Session.
