for at least ten years, and shall be a taxpayer upon real estate in
said county assessed for at least two thousand dollars. The Chair-
man of the Board of County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County shall receive an annual salary of Three Thousand Three
Hundred Dollars ($3,300.00), the other members of the said Board
of County Commissioners shall receive an annual salary of Three
Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) [without mileage or other extra com-
pensation of any kind, including the compensation provided by
Sections 439 and 613 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Anne
Arundel County (1947 Edition), and all additions and amendments
to said sections]. In addition to said annual salary the Chairman
shall receive not more than $200.00 per month for mileage, travel
and other necessary expenses which he might incur in the execution
of his official duties. Each of the other members of the Board of
County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County, in addition to said
annual salary shall receive not more than $150.00 per month for
mileage, travel, and other necessary expenses which they might in-
cur in the execution of their official duties. The payment of such
expenses shall be made from the general funds of Anne Arundel
County, in the same manner as other general County disbursements
are made; provided, however, that the payment of such expenses
as are not heretofore budgeted for or exceed the budget allotment
for same for the calendar year 1959 shall be made from the General
Fund Surplus of said County.

(c) At the primary elections held in Anne Arundel County at
which candidates are to be selected for the positions of County
Commissioners, the voters of each of the eight districts of said county
shall determine for themselves who shall be their candidate to be
voted for at the general election, and therefore, the names of the
persons who file their names for the position of County Commis-
sioner, in accordance with the General Primary Election Law, shall
be placed by the Supervisor of Elections in said County, only upon
the ballot in the district where the candidate resides, and the can-
didate who receives the greatest number of votes in the district
where he resides at the primary election, shall be certified to by the
Supervisors of Elections as the nominee of the political party to
which he belongs, and the name of said nominee shall be placed on
the official ballot to be used in the general election.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.
