officers appointed by that court in pursuance of Section 9 of Article 4
of the Constitution, and said compensation shall be paid by the Clerk
of the said Court as a part of the expense of his office, as is provided
by law respecting salaries paid to personnel of the Clerk's office, or
by the County Commissioners of Prince George's County, as the said
Court may prescribe and direct.
290. IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY THE COURT OFFICERS
APPOINTED PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 4, SECTION 9 OF THE
CONSTITUTION OF MARYLAND, SHALL BE LAW CLERKS,
BAILIFFS, COURT CRIERS AND DOORKEEPERS. THE LAW
CLERKS SHALL RECEIVE AN ANNUAL COMPENSATION OF
THIRTY-SIX HUNDRED ($3,600) DOLLARS EACH. THE
BAILIFFS SHALL RECEIVE A MONTHLY COMPENSATION OF
TWO HUNDRED FIFTY ($250.00) DOLLARS EACH. EACH
COURT CRIER SHALL RECEIVE FIFTEEN ($15.00) DOLLARS
PER DIEM FOR EACH DAY'S ATTENDANCE AND EACH DOOR-
KEEPER SHALL RECEIVE TEN ($10.00) DOLLARS PER DIEM
FOR EACH DAY IN ATTENDANCE. SAID COMPENSATION
SHALL BE PAID BY THE CLERK OF THE SAID COURT AS
PART OF THE EXPENSES OF HIS OFFICE, AS IS PROVIDED
BY LAW REGARDING SALARIES PAID TO PERSONNEL OF
THE CLERK'S OFFICE, PROVIDED, HOWEVER, SHOULD FOR
ANY REASON THERE NOT BE SUFFICIENT FUNDS FROM THE
RECEIPTS OF THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT
COURT, THEN AND IN THAT CASE, THE COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY ARE AUTHORIZED
TO PAY SAID COMPENSATION OR TO PROVIDE FOR THE
DEFICIENCY.
SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT ANY PER-
SON WHO AS OF JUNE 1, 1959 HAS BEEN EMPLOYED FOR
FIFTY YEARS OR MORE IN THE PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY
COURT HOUSE SHALL RECEIVE DURING THE REMAINDER
OF HIS NATURAL LIFE A PENSION IN THE AMOUNT OF $100
PER MONTH TO BE CHARGED AS AN EXPENSE OF THE OF-
FICE OF THE CLERK OF THE COURT OF PRINCE GEORGE'S
COUNTY.
Sec. 2 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.
