Dependents", restricting the payment of allowances for depen-
dents to a maximum number of weeks in each benefit year.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 3(c) of Article 95A of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land, title "Unemployment Insurance Law", sub-title "Allowances
for Dependents", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
3. (c) Allowances for dependents.—An individual receiving week-
ly benefit payments under this section shall, during the period he
receives such payments, be paid a weekly allowance for a dependent
child or children under the age of sixteen (16) years in the amount
shown in column (D), (E), (F), or (G), depending on the number
of such dependent children, on the "schedule of benefits" set forth
in subsection (b) of this section.
Provided, however, that only one spouse shall receive allowance
for dependents under the provisions of this subsection in any par-
ticular week, and provided, that during each benefit year said in-
dividual receiving benefit payments shall be entitled to receive allow-
ances for a dependent child or children, for which he or she qualifies,
for no more than the number of weeks used to determine the dura-
tion of benefits as set forth in sub section (d) of this section TWEN-
TY-SIX WEEKS.
Moneys paid as allowances for dependents shall not be charged
against the experience rating account of any employer.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1959.

AN ACT to add new Section 67A to Article 77 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Public Education", sub-
title "Chapter 5, County Board of Education", to follow im-
mediately after Section 67 thereof, relating to fire drills and in-
spections for fire safety at all public schools under the jurisdiction
of the county and city superintendents of schools.
