automatic pin setters., ; BUT THE PROVISIONS HEREOF SHALL
NOT APPLY TO PRINCE GEORGE'S AND , WORCESTER ,
HOWARD, BALTIMORE AND CARROLL COUNTIES.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 521 of
Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title
"Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Sabbath-Breaking", relating
to the sale or disposal of merchandise on Sunday; providing penal-
ties for unlawful sales thereof, including certain exceptions thereto,
and relating generally to Sunday laws in this State, and providing
certain exceptions for Anne Arundel County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 521 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Sabbath-
Breaking", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
521. (a) No person in this State shall sell, dispose of, barter, or deal
in, or give away any articles of merchandise on Sunday, except
retailers, who may sell and deliver on said day tobacco, cigars, cigar-
ettes, candy, sodas and soft drinks, ice, ice cream, ices and other
confectionery, milk, bread, fruits, gasoline, oils and greases [; and
any].
(b) In Anne Arundel County, in addition to the articles of mer-
chandise hereinbefore mentioned, retailers may sell, barter, deal in,
and deliver on Sunday the following articles of merchandise: butter,
eggs, cream, soap and other detergents, disinfectants, vegetables,
meats, and all other food or food stuffs prepared or intended for
human consumption, automobile accessories and parts, boating and
fishing accessories, artificial and natural flowers and shrubs, toilet
goods, hospital supplies, thermometers, camera films, souvenirs, sur-
gical instruments, rubber goods, paper goods, drugs, medicines, patent
medicines, and all other articles used for the relief of pain or pre-
scribed by a physician.) PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THAT NOTH-
ING IN THIS SUB-TITLE SHALL BE CONSTRUED TO PRE-
VENT THE OPERATION OF ANY RETAIL ESTABLISHMENT
ON SUNDAY, THE OPERATION OF WHICH DOES NOT
ENTAIL THE EMPLOYMENT OF MORE THAN ONE PERSON,
