alleged offense, pray a jury trial, or if the State's Attorney for the
said county where the offense occurs shall, before the trial of such
alleged offense, pray a jury trial on behalf of the State, it shall be
the duty of such justice of the peace to commit such alleged offender
for trial, or to hold him to bail to appear for trial in the court hav-
ing criminal jurisdiction in the case, at its then or next session and
to transmit said commitment or recognizance with the names and
residences of the witnesses for the prosecution endorsed thereon,
forthwith to the clerk of said court; and the justice of the peace,
before whom the accused is brought for trial, shall inform him sea-
sonably of his right to demand a trial by jury.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 117
(Senate Bill 121)

AN ACT to add a new Section 32A to Article 26 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Courts", sub-title "Circuit
Courts for the Counties—Court Stenographers", to follow im-
mediately after Section 32 thereof, providing for an additional
Judge in the First Judicial Circuit under the provisions' of Section
21 of Article 4 of the Constitution of Maryland and relating gen-
erally to such new position.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 32A be and it is hereby added to Article 26 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Courts", sub-title
"Circuit Courts for the Counties—Court Stenographers", to follow
immediately after Section 32 thereof, and to read as follows:

32A. Additional judge for first judicial circuit.

In addition to the three judges for the first judicial circuit for
which provision is made by Section 21 of Article 4 of the Constitution
of Maryland, there shall be an additional and fourth judge. He shall
be subject to all of the provisions of the Constitution and laws re-
lating to the first judicial circuit and the several judges thereof.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1959.

Approved March 3, 1959.

(Senate Bill 123)

AN ACT to repeal Section 35 of Article 89B of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition, as amended), title "State Roads",
