to classify types of amusement activities and to levy a different
rate of tax for each one. AND RELATING TO THE IMPOSI-
TION OF SUCH TAX.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 403(d) be and it is hereby added to Article 81 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Revenue and
Taxes", sub-title "Admissions and Amusement Tax", to follow im-
mediately after Section 403(c) thereof, and to read as follows:
403.
(d) In Anne Arundel County the County Commissioners shall
have the authority to classify the different types of activities under
this sub-title and the rate of tax levied need not be the same for
each type of activity. IN THE CASE OF ANY AMUSEMENT
DEVICE, IN THE OPERATION WHEREOF, AN AWARD OR
PRIZE IS PAID OUT FOR SCORE OR RESULT ATTAINED,
THE TAXES IMPOSED UNDER SECTIONS 402 AND 403
HEREOF SHALL BE COMPUTED ON THE GROSS RECEIPTS
FROM THE OPERATION OF SUCH AMUSEMENT DEVICE,
LESS THE AMOUNT OF ANY SUCH PRIZE OR AWARD PAID
OUT, ON ANY SUCH AMUSEMENT DEVICE OPERATED IN
THE FIRST, SECOND, THIRD, FOURTH, FIFTH, SEVENTH,
OR EIGHTH ELECTION DISTRICTS OF ANNE ARUNDEL
COUNTY. THE GAME OF BINGO SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED
TO BE AN AMUSEMENT DEVICE.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 801
(House Bill 800)
AN ACT to add a new section to the Code of Public Local Laws of
Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition, being Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title Anne Arundel County", sub-
title "Sanitary Districts", said new section to be known as Section
534A to follow immediately after Section 534 of said Code; re-
lating to the issuance of permits for the construction, alteration
or extension of a water supply system or a sewage collection and
disposal system in any area of Anne Arundel County., EXCEPT
THE CITY OF ANNAPOLIS.
