CHAPTER 799
(House Bill 785)
AN ACT to repeal Section 55 of Article 19 of the Code of Public
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County",
subtitle "County Commissioners", as last amended by Chapter
421 of the Acts of 1957, and to enact a new Section 55 in lieu
thereof, to stand in the place and stead of the section so repealed,
to authorize the appointment of an administrative assistant to
the County Commissioners of St. Mary's County to replace the
Clerk of the County Commissioners, and to provide for clerical
assistance to the County Commissioners.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 5 of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County", subtitle "Coun-
ty Commissioners", as last amended by Chapter 421 of the Acts
of 1957, be and it is hereby repealed; and that a new Section 55
be and it is hereby enacted, to stand in the place and stead of the
section so repealed, and to read as follows:
55. The County Commissioners may, in their discretion, appoint
an administrative assistant to the commissioners, and such other
clerical employees as may be necessary. The commissioners may
also determine the salary of the administrative assistant and such
other employees.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to add new Section 403(d) to Article 81 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Revenue and Taxes",
sub-title "Admissions and Amusement Tax", said new section to
follow immediately after Section 403(c) thereof, making special
provision for the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County
