Assembly of 1799, the description in writing having been delivered

according to said act to the Clerk of the County Court and recorded

in Liber W. S. B. No. C, Volume 28, folio 560, 561 and 562 under
the hands and seals of the Commissioners designated by the Act
aforesaid, to wit: John Roberts, John Nabb, William Hayward,
Peregrine Spencer and Samuel Dickinson; and as the fifth district

was created by Chapter 258 of the Acts of 1852; and as the first and

third were amended by Chapter 572 of the Acts of 1892. Elections
shall be held in said districts as lawfully designated from time to time.

250. TALBOT COUNTY IS DIVIDED INTO FIVE ELECTION
DISTRICTS AS PROVIDED BY CHAPTER 115 OF THE ACTS
OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF 1798, CHAPTER 48 OF THE
ACTS OF 1799, CHAPTER 50 OF THE ACTS OF 1799, CHAPTER
258 OF THE ACTS OF 1852 AND CHAPTER 572 OF THE ACTS
OF 1892. FOR REFERENCE TO THE METES AND BOUNDS
DESCRIPTION OF THE SAID DISTRICTS, SEE THE ABOVE
ACTS AND LIBER WSB NO. C, VOLUME 28, FOLIO 560, 561,
AND 562, LAND RECORDS OF THE CIRCUIT COURT OF TAL-
BOT COUNTY.

261. It shall be the duty of the County Treasurer of Talbot
County to make out and file with the Clerk of the Circuit Court
for said county not less than twenty days before the third Monday
in January, in each and every year, a full and complete list of all
the [male taxable] residents of said county whose names appear
on the tax books thereof, and who are not known to said Treasurer
to be under the age of twenty-five years, to which list, so to be made
and filed, he shall append a certificate that said list is fully and
fairly made, and for said list shall receive such compensation as
the County Commissioners of said county shall deem right and
proper [, not exceeding twenty-five dollars for any one list so made
out; and for wilful failure or refusal to perform the duty hereby
imposed, the said Treasurer shall forfeit and pay to the State a fine
of not less than one hundred dollars nor more than one thousand
dollars, in the discretion of the court, to be recovered by indictment
as for a misdemeanor].

323. For the purpose of aiding, promoting and encouraging the
erection of manufactories in the towns of Easton, Trappe, Oxford,
St. Michaels and [the village of] Cordova, [Talbot County, in this
State,] the County Commissioners of Talbot County and the com-
missioners of the [town of Easton] respective towns are hereby
authorized and empowered in their discretion to exempt any and
all manufactories which shall hereafter be erected and conducted
in said [town of Easton] towns or adjacent thereto from all county
and municipal taxation, respectively.

402. The name of the tributary or branch of the Choptank river

known as Dividing creek, extending into Talbot county, and upon

which the landing for the town of La Trappe, in said county, is

located, is changed to La Trappe river, and said Dividing creek shall

hereafter be called and known by the name of Dividing river.

The name of the tributary or branch of the Choptank river, ex-

tending into Talbot county, known as Harris' creek, is changed to

Harris river, and that known as Broad creek, is changed to Broad
river, and said Harris' creek and Broad creek shall hereafter be
