AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 15(i)
and 20(n) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957
Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-titles "Beer and Light
Wine Licenses" and "Beer, Wine and Liquor Licenses"; and to
add new Section 20 (h-1) to said Article 2B, title "Alcoholic Bev-
erages", sub-title "Beer Wine and Liquor Licenses", to follow
immediately after Section 20(h) thereof, allowing the granting of
Class C licenses in Howard County to a country club, and other
matters generally related thereto UNDER CERTAIN CON-
DITIONS.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 15 (i) and (20 (n) of Article 2B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-
titles "Beer and Light Wine Licenses" and "Beer, Wine and Liquor
Licenses", be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments; and that new Section 20 (h-1) be and it is hereby added
to said Article 2B, title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Beer, Wine
and Liquor Licenses", to follow immediately after Section 20 (h)
thereof, and all to read as follows:

(i) Exceptions.—This section shall not apply to Calvert, Caroline,
Charles, Dorchester, Garrett, [Howard,] Kent, Queen Anne's, St.
Mary's, Somerset and Talbot counties, in all of which jurisdictions
such licenses shall not be issued.
20.
(h-1) Howard County.—In Howard County such a license may be
issued to a country club or to the owner or owners thereof, regard-
less of whether said club is operated for profit or not, but provided
that said club has a bona fide annual limited membership and which
shall have at the time of issuance of the license a regular or cham-
pionship golf course adjacent to the premises for which a license
is sought of eighteen holes and other club facilities. The annual fee
for such a license shall be one thousand dollars ($1,000.00).
20.
(n) Applicability.—Such licenses shall only be issued in the City
of Baltimore, in Allegany, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Cecil, Frederick,
Howard, Kent, Montgomery, Prince George's, Queen Anne's, Talbot
and Washington counties, in the towns of North Beach and Chesa-
peake Beach in Calvert County and in Cambridge election district
No. 7 and Linkwood election district No. 14 in Dorchester County.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.
