CHAPTER 739
(House Bill 223)

AN ACT to add new Section 181A to Article 2B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages",
sub-title "Consumers", to follow immediately after Section 181
thereof, relating to the possession OR CONSUMPTION of alcoholic
beverages by a minor in Prince George's County and providing
penalties for the unlawful possession OR CONSUMPTION of
alcoholic beverages by a minor.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 181A be and it is hereby added to Article 2B of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic
Beverages", sub-title "Consumers", to follow immediately after
Section 181 thereof, and to read as follows:

181A. It shall be unlawful for any minor in Prince George's
County to have in his possession
OR TO CONSUME any alcoholic
beverages in any public place or on any public highway. The word
"minor" shall apply to every person under 21 years of age, except
bona fide employees in the course of their employment and whose
employment is not prohibited by this Article. Any person violating
the provisions of this sub-section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and
upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to a fine of not less than
twenty-five dollars ($25.00) nor more than one hundred dollars
($100.00) for each violation.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 740
(House Bill 277)

AN ACT to add new Sections 233B to 233J, inclusive, to the Code
of Public Local Laws of Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition,
being Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Anne Arundel County", to follow immediately after Section
233A thereof, having been added by Chapter 408 of 1951, and
to be under the new sub-title "Classified Service", providing for
a classified service for employees of Anne Arundel County and
relating generally to county employees in Anne Arundel County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 233B to 233J, inclusive, be and they are hereby
