J. MILLARD TAWES, GOVERNOR                          1081

Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Anne Arundel
County", subtitle "Roads", to follow immediately after Section
474 thereof, relating to the naming of streets and roads and num-
bering of buildings in Anne Arundel County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 474A be and it is hereby added to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition, being
Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Anne
Arundel County", subtitle "Roads", to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 474 thereof, and to read as follows:

474A.

(a)   The Planning Commission of Anne Arundel County shall de-
termine and fix the number of every new building, and shall have
the power, in order to correct mistakes and avoid confusion, to
change existing numbers, provided that each new number or change
of number is reported to the owner or occupant of the building.

(b)  New public streets and roads shall not be designated by names
until such names have been approved by the said Commission, and
entered upon its proper plates and records. Whenever any private
road or street is dedicated for public purposes and such dedication
is accepted, or whenever the title to any private street is conveyed
to the county, the Commission shall give such road or street a name
by which it shall be known thereafter on all official records of the
county. It shall be the duty of the Commission to recommend to
the County Commissioners from time to time changes in the names
of existing public roads and streets to the end that duplication of
names may be eliminated and confusion avoided.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to add Section 467A to the Code of Public Local Laws of
Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition, being Article 2 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Anne Arundel County",
sub-title "Roads", to follow immediately after Section 467 thereof,
relating to and authorizing the County Commissioners of Anne
Arundel County to take over and maintain certain roads in Anne
Arundel County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 467A be and it is hereby added to the Code of Public
