Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 344 and 345 of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-
title "Schools", be and they are hereby repealed, and that said sub-
title be and is hereby repealed in its entirety.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to repeal Section 390 of Article 23 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County",
sub-title "Sheriff", as said section was amended by Chapter 233 of
the Acts of 1953, and to enact a new Section 390 in lieu thereof,
to stand in the place of the section so repealed, re-enacting, with-
out change, the provisions of said Section 390, as contained in
Chapter 233 of the Acts of 1953, in order to resolve any doubts
about the provisions of said sections by reason of the action of the
General Assembly thereon in Chapters 778 and 905 of 1947; said
section relating to the Sheriff of Wicomico County and to the
allowance provided for and the duties required of the Sheriff.

Whereas, Chapter 778 of the Acts of 1947 amended Section 390
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Wicomico County, as said section
had last been amended by Chapter 243 of the Acts of 1939; and

Whereas, In the same Session of the General Assembly by Chap-
ter 905 of the Acts of 1947, Section 390, as last amended by Chapter
243 of 1939, was repealed, this Act making no mention of Chapter
778 of 1947; and

Whereas, By Chapter 233 of 1953, the same section was again
amended, this Act referring back to the previous amendment in
Chapter 778 of 1947 but making no mention of the repeal of the
section in Chapter 905 of the Acts of 1947; and

Whereas, There may be doubts about the language presently con-
tained in said section and for that reason it is desirable to re-enact
Section 390, as last set forth in Chapter 233 of the Acts of 1953;
now, therefore
