(b) $5,000.00 to the La Plata Fire Department
$2,500.00 to the Hughesville Fire Department
$2,500.00 to the Waldorf Fire Department
$2,500.00 to the Nanjomoy Fire Department
$2,500.00 to the Indian Head Fire Department
$2,500.00 to the Potomac Heights Fire Department
$2,500.00 to the Fifth District Fire Department
$2,500.00 to the Tenth District Fire Department
$2,500.00 to the Benedict Fire Department
$5,000.00 to the Charles County Central Fire Watch which is
presently maintained at the La Plata Fire House
so long as each of said fire departments remain an active fire fight-
ing organization, said sums to be used by the said fire departments
for the purchase, repair and maintenance of fire fighting equipment,
except in the case of the Charles County Central Fire Watch which
may use said sum for the payment of employees.
(c) $1,000.00 to the Children's Aid Society for use in its work in
Charles County.
(d) $8,500.00 shall be placed in a ''Charles County Library Fund",
and used to equal any State Funds which may be available for the
establishment and maintenance of free libraries in Charles County.
(e) $15,000.00 shall be applied to a "Physicians' Memorial Hos-
pital Fund" and distributed to said Hospital from time to time as
deemed necessary by the County Commissioners and based on the
needs of said hospital.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts of laws,
public general or public local, inconsistent with the provisions of
this Act are hereby repealed to the extent of any such inconsistency.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

(House Bill 689)
AN ACT to add new Section 22-4A to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Montgomery County (1955 Edition, being Article 16 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Montgomery
County", sub-title "Chapter 22. Public Welfare", to follow imme-
diately after Section 22-4 thereof, allowing the County Council to
make payments to foster homes to secure adequate provision for
the care of children in foster homes.
