1016                             Laws of Maryland                       [Ch. 673

title "Natural Resources", sub-title "Hunter's License", relating to
the sale of hunting licenses by Agents and relating generally to the
sale of hunting licenses in this State.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 129 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Natural Resources", sub-title "Hunter's Li-
cense", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

129. (a) The clerks of the circuit courts of the counties and the
Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas of Baltimore City [, and agents]
shall on the first day of July and on the first day of each and every
month thereafter, transmit to the Game and Inland Fish Commission
of this State all monies received by them for licenses, and said monies
shall be accounted for by the said Commission to the Comptroller
of this State. The amounts so received by the Comptroller shall be
placed to the credit of a separate fund to be known as "the State
Game Protection Fund", and shall be disbursed by the Comptroller
from time to time on warrants signed by the Director and counter-
signed by a representative of the Commission. The monies in said
fund shall be used solely for the salaries and expenses of the Game
and Inland Fish Commission, the Director and his subordinates, and
for scientific investigation and the protection and propagation of
birds, wild fowl, inland fish, and game. The Game and Inland Fish
Commission shall require the Director to file an annual account with
it showing the entire receipts and disbursements of himself and all
deputies and exhibit vouchers therefor and also shall require said
Director to file an annual bond in the penalty of two thousand dollars
($2,000.00) for the faithful performance of his duties, the cost of
the bond to be paid out of the State Game Protection Fund.

(b) Any person engaged in a retail business (except where alco-
holic beverages are sold for consumption
,
DISTILLED SPIRITS
ARE SOLD FOR CONSUMPTION on the premises) desiring to
sell hunting licenses under the control and supervision of the Depart-
ment of Game and Inland Fish shall present to the Department a
certified check, postal money-order, bank draft or cash covering
all licenses so desired by them. Under no circumstances will the
Department be compelled to issue less than the following hunting
licenses:

25 County-resident
10 State-wide

5 Non-resident

All agents shall designate the location where the licenses are to
be sold and shall file said information with the Department at the
time of purchase of licenses.

The agent shall agree to submit the necessary reports of sales
together with the duplicate stubs after the first day of each and
every month thereafter as long as he sells these licenses in accordance
with Section 126 and said report and stubs shall reach this office
not later than the seventh day of each succeeding month.

The Department of Game and Inland Fish shall credit all authorized
agents with all monies paid for hunting licenses and shall credit
