CHAPTER 3
(House Bill 49)

An ACT to authorize and direct the Board of Public Works of the
State of Maryland to release mortgages made to the State of
Maryland by Charlotte Hall School on the dates of October 26,
1927, and September 19, 1929.

WHEREAS, On October 26, 1927, a mortgage was executed by
Charlotte Hall School to the State of Maryland to secure the re-
payment of an appropriation of $50, 000 made by the State to
Charlotte Hall School, this mortgage having been recorded on
November 16, 1927, among the land records of St. Mary's County
in Liber J. M. M. No. 2, Folio 301; and

WHEREAS, On September 19, 1929, a mortgage was executed by
Charlotte Hall School to the State of Maryland to secure the re-
payment of an appropriation of $19, 817. 19 $49, 817. 49 made by the
State to Charlotte Hall School, this mortgage having been recorded
on October 2, 1929, among the land records of St. Mary's County in
Liber J. M. M. No. 3, Folio 232; and

WHEREAS, The General Assembly desires that these mortgages be
released because they have impaired the further growth and im-
provement of Charlotte Hall School; now, therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Board of Public Works of the State of Maryland is au-
thorized and directed to release the mortgage and to discharge the
debt received by said mortgage made by Charlotte Hall School to
the State of Maryland on October 26, 1927, and recorded on Novem-
ber 16, 1927, among the land records of St. Mary's County in Liber
J. M. M. No. 2, Folio 301.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Board of Public Works
of the State of Maryland is authorized and directed to release the
mortgage and to discharge the debt received by said mortgage made
by Charlotte Hall School to the State of Maryland on September 19,
1929, and recorded on October 2, 1929, among the land records of
St. Mary's County in Liber J. M. M. No. 3, Folio 232.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1960.
